Trying to get 16s microbial DNA from blood samples in cod

Currently trying the SMARTer Stranded Total RNA-seq Kit V2- pico input Mammalian kit from Takara Bio for low input and very degraded cod larvae samples in order to do RNA-seq libraries as a part of Maddi Garate PhD thesis. Preliminary results looks really promising :).

I have already the Miseq data to start working on AMP genetic variation along a latitudinal gradient! We run our first FLASH (poolA) and 99.4% of the reads are combined. Good news. Excited.

Currently, Gesa von Hirschheydt is working on MHC genetic variation linked to experimental infection in  Common todas. It is a proyect shared between Sara Meurling and myself.

Today, I have been working on MHC amplification in R.temporaria, preparing the samples for “CAPTURE”, touch down amplification at 59 degrees. All are replicates from the same samples. One line is one samples and the other line is another samples. Some samples from the population are not working properly. It is why we are going to use “the CAPTURE” technique.
